January will be the anniversary month of Edgar Allan Poe's death and a fitting time to start a brand new challenge blog celebrating his life and work! This will be a challenge that accepts all mediums and all interpretations of the works of Edgar Allan Poe. The theme will be "Anything Goes" for most months with some exceptions along the way to make sure we are all paying attention :)
The rules are very simple as stated any mediums including digital, paintings, stamping, sewing, thinking outside of the box, and do not have to be "dark" in nature. The two biggest rules are no judgement on anyone's work after all it is their own trademarked thoughts of his work and nothing that falls in the X rated (pornography, abusive, etx) category will be accepted and will be taken down immediately without any prior notice. Any repeated attempts at entering this type of material will ban you from the challenge blog.
You may enter as many times each month as you like! Please link back to us so others who may want to play can find the challenge; let's share the fun! A winner's badge will be given each month for you to display on your blog. Postage rates in the US are getting very high and since I hope to see folks from all over the world showing their fondness for Poe this hinders being able to send prizes. But as people who enjoy Poe's work, I think a badge will be an awesome thing to display as the winner!
There will be a blog hop in January starting on the 19th and I hope we can all find time to enter there and here it can be the same entry so twice the fun with half the work? I will give more information about this on January's first challenge post. I hope this will be a fun place to play; one where you look forward each month to playing and visiting! This is my answer to a stressful year so you may rest assured it will be a stress free zone of marvelous creations and wonderful inspiration.
I want to credit Ike of Ike's Art who started Quoth the Raven Challenge Blog and which I played at and loved and eventually was honored to be on the design team for introducing me to this outlet of creativity that I had never known existed. Quoth the Raven was closed due to the number of entries falling off as so many challenges have faced in the last year or so. I am in no way trying to follow in the fabulous footsteps of Ike as no one can for her challenge was a masterpiece in itself with the wording and work put into it! I just want to create another space for those who do appreciate Poe to be able to play.
